Introduction

Townsend House
is a Victorian building dating back to the 19th century, set in picturesque surroundings situated twelve miles from the county town of Taunton and three miles from Langport. It has a wonderful outlook towards the surrounding hills and valleys.
 

The gardens at the rear of the building are two tiered, a large patio area enables residents to sit and relax in comfort, during the warmer months a parasol over tables and chairs is common, fruit trees are situated within the grassed area.




Internal decorations are of high standards but always under review, most bedrooms have en-suite facilities and are for single occupancy only, the only shared room is reserved for couples.

Mr. C Cavill is the person in control who is registered with the national minimum standards council and is a director within the business, his experience spans twenty-six years from physically disabled, mentally disabled to elderly residents.

He has attained considerable skills and knowledge to enable the home to run with 22 staff who are achieving their N.V.Q.2.

Care assistants cover a twenty-four hour period and the full-time cook provides the home with it's balanced diet catering for all needs, whether by religious or medical requirements.


Mr. Cavill promotes a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and encourages friends, relatives and local community people to visit the home, either formally of informally, regular visits include the vicar, chiropodist, G.P, pat dog club, all tied in with regular activities provided by the home.
